Searching the Cass County Court Docket
For a free Cass County court docket search, start with MyCase, the Indiana Courts Case Search. All three local courts feed public data into it through Odyssey, the shared case-management system. You can search by case number, citation, cross-reference number, party name, or attorney. Filters for court, case status, and filing dates trim down common names. Cass County carries two court identifiers. Pick the right one.
Use the most exact detail you have. A full Indiana case number beats a name every time. Know only a name? Try the exact spelling first. Then use the wildcard and sounds-like controls described in the official search tips. If the division is unclear, run the search against both Cass Circuit Court and Cass Superior Court. Expect a CAPTCHA prompt sometimes. Broad searches can hit a result cap. A missing, muddled, or restricted result calls for the clerk. The clerk also handles certified form.
- Open MyCase and select the Case, Name, or Attorney search tab.
- Enter the case number or name, then limit the court to Cass Circuit or Cass Superior when possible.
- Compare the caption, court identifier, filing date, and status before opening a result.
- Read the CCS events and verify any hearing through the public calendar and court.
- Ask the Cass County Clerk for a copy or certification when the online view is not enough.
MyCase Fields for Cass Dockets
The MyCase search tips from the Indiana Judiciary walk through the controls that help in Cass County. The Case tab takes a case number, citation, or cross-reference value. The Name tab covers people and businesses. The Attorney tab accepts a lawyer's name or number. Court, status, and file-date limits work across all tabs. Remember what a public query actually is. It is an index search. It is not a request for every document sitting in the clerk's file.
| Search field | Best use | Cass County detail |
|---|---|---|
| Case | Known Indiana case number | Look for 09C01 or 09D01 |
| Name | Party or business name | Use wildcard or sounds-like if needed |
| Court | Narrow broad results | Select Circuit or Superior |
| Status and date | Separate open, closed, or recent cases | Do not assume closed means every order is online |
MyCase is where the public search starts. Its court and date filters work best once you have a likely Cass division in mind.
Court Dockets: What They Show
A Cass County CCS is a dated log of court activity. Parties and attorneys appear there. Charges or claims appear too, along with appearances, filings, orders, hearing settings, financial entries, and a disposition. Links to public documents are not always present. One caution applies. An event label may summarize an order without ever showing the signed paper behind it. Think of the CCS as a route map for the case. The clerk's case file is where the underlying public papers actually live.
| Case Number | County and court code, filing year and month, case type, and sequence, such as 09D01-2608-IF-000123. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Public names and roles, subject to access and redaction rules. |
| Docket Entries / Filings | Dated CCS events describing filings, notices, orders, and administrative activity. |
| Hearing Settings | Public date, time, court, and setting information when available. |
| Court & Judge | Cass Circuit 09C01 or Cass Superior 09D01 and the assigned judicial officer. |
| Disposition | The recorded resolution or status, which may require the final order for full meaning. |
Decode a Cass Case Number
Every Indiana case number packs a short filing history inside it. Cass County's code is 01. The next letter and digits name the local court. So 09C01 means Cass Circuit Court and 09D01 means Cass Superior Court. After that come the year and month. Then comes a case-type code such as IF for infraction, CM for criminal misdemeanor, F6 for Level 6 felony, SC for small claims, or EV for eviction. The final group is simply that case type's sequence number.
- CCS
- Chronological Case Summary, Indiana's event-by-event register of actions.
- Pending
- A case that has not reached a recorded final disposition.
- Reset
- A setting moved to another date; it does not mean the case ended.
- Disposition
- The event or order resolving all or part of the matter.
Codes can steer a search, but they say nothing about the merits. Open the Cass County court docket and read the entries in order.
Cass County Courts and Dockets
Cass County has three courts of record. Higher-level felonies and certain probate or family matters usually land in Circuit Court. Superior Court takes misdemeanors, Level 6 and lower-level matters, small claims, many civil cases, and every county traffic filing. One elected clerk serves both courts. Indiana's current Odyssey inventory lists no separate Cass city or town court.
| Court | Docket Covers | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| Cass Circuit Court, 09C01 | Higher felonies and allocated probate/family matters | MyCase and Cass County Clerk |
| Cass Superior Court I, 09D01 | Level 6 felonies, small claims, evictions, protective orders, mental health | MyCase, court line, and Clerk |
| Cass Superior Court II, 09D02 | Misdemeanors, infractions, ordinance violations, and assigned felonies | MyCase, court line, and Clerk |
| Indiana appellate courts | Appeals from the trial courts | Separate appellate docket system |
One Cass Docket Address
The Cass County government page leads to the county offices that support court access.

All three courts share one address: 200 Court Park in Logansport. A single elected Clerk supports them all.
The Cass Superior Courts page lists both Superior divisions, their rooms, and their phone lines.

The division matters for settings, though the Clerk remains the shared records custodian.
Cass County Court Dates
The statewide Trial Court Calendar can display public Cass hearings from participating courts. It covers seven days back through four weeks ahead. Search by county, court, date, case number, attorney, or party, depending on the controls offered. A result typically names the court, the hearing type, and date, time, location. It also includes a MyCase link. The window is tight, though, and participation is voluntary. An empty result is not proof that no hearing exists.
Cross-check the CCS and the Cass County court schedule. Then confirm anything urgent with the assigned court directly. A continuance moves a hearing; it never dismisses it. Calendar data can shift after a notice goes out in the mail. The latest official entry plus direct court confirmation is what controls.
Cass Odyssey Since 2011
Odyssey went live in Cass County on June 20, 2011. That date comes from the state's official record. The system covers court identifiers 09C01, 09D01, and 09D02. Behind the public services, Odyssey tracks CCS events, case numbers, calendars, bonds, financial activity, and images. MyCase is only the public layer, not the whole database. E-filing is a channel for filing. Ticket payment is a channel for transactions.
The Indiana Judiciary's Cass County page collects the official local links in one spot.

Cass Docket Volume in Context
Official Indiana court statistics counted 7,221 new Cass filings in 2024. The breakdown: 2,352 criminal filings, 2,344 civil filings, 2,143 civil violations, plus other categories. These are filing counts, not tallies of unique people, convictions, or judgments.
The official dashboard shown below helps place the county workload in context.

Search the actual CCS rather than inferring a case result from totals.
Docket Access Under Indiana Law
Access to Cass County docket records follows Indiana's Rules on Access to Court Records. Rule 4 opens with public access as the default. Rule 5 then carves out information that stays excluded or redacted. Remote MyCase access can be narrower. The clerk may hand over more at the counter. Juvenile matters and adoption records may be limited or closed. Confidential health information, victim or witness data, sealed filings, and certain warrant material may be limited or unavailable.
Key Rules:
Access Rule 4 establishes the general public-access framework.
Access Rule 5 identifies confidential and excluded records.
Access Rule 9 provides a process to request access to an excluded record.
When a Cass Case Is Missing
An empty result on a Cass County docket search rarely means the case is gone. Spelling slips can hide it. So can a narrow court filter, a filing too new for the index, an older converted record, or restricted access. Enter the exact number first, then widen the filing dates. Broad location codes help too. Try 09C01, 09D01, and 09D02. One blank query is never proof that a file never existed. The official Cass Clerk page shows the records fallback when online searching stalls.

Ask the Clerk directly with the party name, the approximate year, the court, and the case type you know. For excluded records, requests follow Rule 9.
Docket Records at the Clerk
Destry Richey is the Cass County Clerk. That office holds the trial-court record for Circuit Court and Superior Courts I and II. Filings sit there. So do RJO and judgment records, money, certified copies, wills, bonds, and appeal records. Deputies split the work by record function. Ask for the right desk. The Clerk keeps the court records but rules on nothing.
Plain copies run -e.25 per page, and certification costs plus any copy pages. Requests are handled first-come amid whatever backlog exists, so count on same-day service as a maybe rather than a promise.

Official Cass Record Channels
The Clerk duties page identifies the official records role.

Put the Clerk to work on copies, certification, balances, and anything MyCase will not display. MyCase gives you the public CCS, and the assigned court confirms settings.
Cass County Court Dockets by City
Logansport, Galveston, Walton, Royal Center, and Onward all share the county-level docket path. The current court directory and the Odyssey list no separate city or town court for any of them. Police and local government records sit apart from a CCS.

Cass Docket Search Fallbacks
A Cass County court docket search does not die when MyCase shows no document link. The online CCS is just the first public layer. Record images vary. Their age, conversion history, document type, and access status all shape what appears, so note the exact cause number, the court code, the event date, and the title of the item in the chronology. That short list is enough. It lets the Cass County Clerk identify a public filing without decoding the whole case by phone. For an order or judgment, ask whether the entry lives in the RJO and whether a plain or certified copy fits the need.
Money questions also demand a Clerk check. A balance on the public screen may lag a later receipt, adjustment, or allocation. Payment systems run separately from the public docket, so treat no search result as a payment quote. The same split governs hearings. MyCase and the state calendar are search tools. The Cass live-hearing page is a stream directory, and the court office confirms the current setting. Use each official channel for its own job. That keeps a stale screen from masquerading as the controlling court record.
In-person access is centralized at the Logansport County Government Building. Local security rules cover that building, the Probation Annex, and the Cass/Pulaski Community Corrections building. Entry can involve a search, and weapons are prohibited. Bring the case identifiers for your records question, and expect the Clerk's first-come backlog. Cass pages list two different fax numbers. Call before faxing. The county publishes no general email, dropbox, public terminal policy, certified-copy turnaround, or separate docket-search fee.
Federal cases take a different path entirely. Cass County sits in the South Bend Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, and PACER and federal CM/ECF hold those dockets rather than Indiana MyCase. Bankruptcy records belong to the Northern District bankruptcy system as well. State appeals travel from the Cass trial courts to the Indiana Court of Appeals in ordinary cases. The Indiana Supreme Court and Indiana Tax Court handle matters within their jurisdictions. A Cass city page cannot stand in for the state trial-court CCS. Neither can a police record, a county administrative request, or a federal search.
Whatever fallback you use, write down the source and the date you checked it. Court events shift. A later Cass CCS entry can change what an earlier notice meant. Verify with the court or Clerk. That is always the sound final step.
Map and Directions to the Cass County Government Building
Cass Circuit Court, Superior Court I, Superior Court II, and the Clerk's Office are all housed in the Cass County Government Building, 200 Court Park, in Logansport. The Clerk's counter is in Room 407, Superior Court I is in Room 401, and Superior Court II's courtroom is Room 413 with its office in Room 411; the state court directory lists Circuit Court at the same address, Suite 211. Because the room numbers differ slightly between the county and state sources, call the specific court before a visit.
